Mobile App — Daily Work

A field employee's whole day in the Jobmand app: seeing your work, clocking on, photographing what you did, logging what you used, and checking you'll be paid for it.

New to the app? Read Getting Started first — it covers signing in, the tabs, and how offline mode works.

Quick overview

Your day fits into five screens:

Home

Your greeting and role at the top, and two buttons at the top right: Settings (the sliders icon) and the message bell, with a red badge counting unread messages. If you're clocked in, there's also a live CLOCKED IN banner counting up in hours, minutes and seconds. Tap the banner to jump straight to the Clock.

Below that, up to five stat cards:

CardWhat it counts
My TasksEverything assigned to you (admins see all tasks)
Open TasksNot yet finished
CompletedTasks you've closed
Days LoggedDays you've recorded hours on
RoutesRoutes you're crewed on

A card appears only if you can view what it counts: the three task cards need Tasks, Days Logged needs Timesheets, and Routes needs Routes. The bell follows the same rule — it's there only if you can view Messages.

A red banner appears here when you're offline.

Pull down on Home to refresh. It does a full round trip: sends anything waiting, uploads queued photos, pulls down new work, and reloads the screen. It's the one gesture worth remembering.

Tasks

Your assigned work. Completed tasks you never logged time against are hidden, so the list stays short and honest.

Admins see every task and get a + button to create one.

The GPS button

Every task card has a GPS button that opens the customer's address in Apple Maps or Google Maps, ready to navigate. No copying addresses, no typing while driving.

Task details

Tap a task to open it. You get the title, status, project, priority, description, deadline, the office's instructions, and the location.

Read the instruction photos before you start. The office attaches pictures with a caption under each — the exact fitting, the colour to match, where the shut-off is. Two minutes here saves an afternoon of rework.

A floating bar at the bottom of the task tells you where you stand. It shows one of these:

Footer showsMeansDo
START CLOCK INYou're not clocked inTap it to start working on this task
STOP CLOCKYou're clocked in on this taskTap when you finish
SCAN JOBSITE QRYou're not clocked in, and your company clocks in by QR code onlyTap it and scan the code posted at the jobsite
ALREADY CLOCKED IN ELSEWHEREYou have a session open on a different task or jobsiteGo to the Clock tab and close that one first
A read-only summaryThe task is completedNothing — it's history now

The amber state is the one to act on. It means your hours are currently going to a different task. Close the open session before starting this one, or your day ends up on the wrong job.

Adding photos

Employees can attach photos to a task, either by Camera (take one now) or Gallery (pick several at once).

They're saved on the phone first and upload in the background. A pending photo shows a small cloud badge; one that couldn't upload shows a failed badge. Both clear on their own once you're back in coverage.

Admins see the photos read-only on this screen, and instead get a Materials panel — search the catalog, set quantity, unit price and notes, and link or unlink items — plus a Mark as Completed button.

The Clock screen

The running timer, the task you're working on (or the JOBSITE, if you scanned in), and one big CLOCK OUT button.

When you're not clocked in, the screen shows how you can start — Clock in by Task (opens your task list), Clock in by QR Code (opens the scanner), or both, depending on what your company allows.

If you clocked in by QR code, the button reads SCAN TO CLOCK OUT — scan the jobsite code to finish. Can't scan? Tap Can't scan the code?, write the reason (a dead battery, a missing sign) and clock out. The hours still count, and your admin sees the reason when reviewing the timesheet.

Clocking out records your hours, sets the entry to Pending for your admin to approve, queues your photo, and triggers a sync.

The verification photo

Before clocking out you can take an end-of-shift verification photo with the camera. It's optional in the app — if you clock out without one, you'll be asked to confirm.

Take it anyway. The photo is what settles a question about the shift weeks later. On the website the photo is mandatory precisely because it matters that much.

Clocking in by QR code

If your company posts QR codes at its jobsites: Profile → Clock in by QR Code (or the same button on the Clock screen), then point the camera at the sign. That's it.

Your hours go to the jobsite's QR task, and the time recorded is your phone's time. You can't be clocked in by QR and on a task at the same time — close one before starting the other.

Clocked in by QR? Clock out by QR too. Scan the same sign when you leave. Only if you really can't, use Can't scan the code? on the Clock screen — it asks for a reason and flags the shift for review.

You don't choose in or out — the server works it out. No open session means the scan clocks you in; an open one means it clocks you out. Scanning the same sign again within a minute of clocking in is ignored — you stay clocked in, so an accidental second scan won't clock you straight back out.

The scanner ignores repeat reads of the same code, so holding the camera on the sign won't punch you over and over.

After the scan

As soon as the code is read the camera closes and the screen says Recording…. A moment later the app opens the Clock screen by itself — with the timer running if you clocked in — and a confirmation at the bottom: Clocked in or Clocked out, with the jobsite name and the time. There is nothing to tap. Instead of the jobsite and time, the confirmation may carry:

A location warning does not undo your punch. You are clocked in. It's flagged for the office to review, because GPS drifts indoors, in basements and between tall buildings. It will never leave you standing at a gate.

If the camera permission was denied, or something else fails, the scanner says so and offers Try again.

Scanning with no signal

The punch is written straight to the phone and the confirmation on the Clock screen tells you so. It uploads on its own when you're back in coverage.

Don't scan again to "make sure". The first scan worked. A second one is ignored for the first minute — after that it clocks you straight back out.

My Hours

Your own hours and money. Pick a period with the date range picker — This week, This month, Last month, Last 30 days, or a custom range.

The summary shows:

FigureMeaning
Total HoursHours in the period
Total EarnedThose hours at your rate
Paid OutAlready paid to you
To ReceiveApproved and owed but not yet paid
Hourly rateYour rate, so you can check the maths

Below, one card per shift with the clock-in and clock-out times, the duration, the approval status (Approved / Pending / Rejected) and the payment status (Paid / Processing / Unpaid).

This screen needs a connection. It's always fetched live, so it's blank offline. That's not lost data — it's just not stored on the phone.

Routes

The Routes tab. The screen is titled My Routes and shows only the routes you're crewed on; whoever can edit routes gets Routes & Destinations with every route. Searchable, with a status filter — All, Planned, In Progress, Completed.

Opening a route gives you the stop count, distance and estimated duration, a map with numbered pins and the road path, the driver, vehicle and crew, and the ordered list of stops — each with its status, the services to perform there, and a button to open it in your maps app.

Routes don't work offline. If you're heading somewhere with no coverage, open the route while you still have signal.

Schedule

The Schedule tab is an agenda of your tasks, grouped by day. An Overdue group comes first — open tasks whose date has passed — then Today, Tomorrow, and the following days with their weekday and date.

A task sits on its start date, or on its deadline (due date) if it has no start date. Tasks with no date at all aren't listed — they stay in Tasks. Tap a task to open its Task details.

You see the tasks assigned to you; whoever can edit tasks sees everyone's. The agenda is built from the tasks already on the phone, so it works offline — pull down to sync.

Schedule is read-only. You can't move a task to another day from the phone — the office does that in the web Scheduler, and the change shows up here after your next sync.

Messages

Tap the bell at the top right of Home to open them. Announcements from the office — to everyone, to your group, or to you. Unread ones have a dot, and drive the badge on Home. Tapping one marks it read straight away, and it stays read: the receipt is sent to the office on the next sync, so the message does not come back unread after you restart the app.

There's no reply. If you need to answer, phone the office.

Common workflows

A normal day

  1. Open the app on the way in — it syncs and pulls today's work
  2. Tasks — open your first job, read the instructions and instruction photos
  3. Tap GPS to navigate to the address
  4. On arrival: scan the jobsite QR code, or use START CLOCK IN on the task
  5. Work. Photograph anything worth photographing as you go
  6. Leaving: scan again, or open Clock, take the verification photo, CLOCK OUT
  7. Before you lose the phone for the day, check the photo badges have cleared

Finish a task properly

  1. Clock out first, so the hours land on this task
  2. Add photos of the finished work from the task screen
  3. Tell the office it's done — they close the task with your notes and photos
  4. Check My Hours the next day: the shift should read Approved

Check you'll be paid correctly

  1. My HoursLast month (or your pay period)
  2. Compare Total Hours against what you actually worked
  3. Look for any Pending shift — those aren't counted yet
  4. Look for any Rejected shift and read the reason
  5. To Receive is what's approved and still owed to you

FAQ & Troubleshooting

The task says ALREADY CLOCKED IN ELSEWHERE.
You have a session open on another task. Go to Clock, clock out of that one, then come back.
I forgot to clock out yesterday.
Clock out now and tell your admin. They'll reject the wrong entry so the correct hours can be recorded.
Can I clock out without the photo?
In the app, yes — you'll be asked to confirm. Take one anyway; it's what answers questions about the shift later.
The QR scan warned about my location.
You're still clocked in. It's a note for the office, not a rejection. GPS is unreliable indoors.
I scanned with no signal — did it count?
Yes. The screen tells you it was saved on the device. It uploads by itself. Don't scan again.
My Hours is empty.
It needs a connection. Get signal and reopen it.
My hours are there but Total Earned looks low.
Only Approved shifts count. Anything still Pending is excluded until your admin approves it.
A photo has been showing a cloud icon for hours.
It hasn't uploaded yet. Open the app on a good connection and pull down to refresh, which processes the queue.
My routes list is empty.
Either you have no signal (routes are online-only), or you're not crewed on any route. Ask your dispatcher.
Can I reply to a message?
No. Messages are one-way announcements. Phone the office if you need to answer.
